Agenda

Tour itinerary

Upon arrival in Paro, you will be warmly greeted by our local representative and taken on a guided tour of some of the town’s most significant landmarks.

We begin with a visit to the National Museum, housed in the historic Ta Dzong, a 17th-century watchtower originally built to protect the Paro Rinpung Dzong. The museum features a fascinating collection of rare stamps and artifacts, offering deep insight into Bhutanese history dating back to the 6th century.

Next, we explore the Paro Rinpung Dzong, an architectural marvel and cultural icon of Bhutan. Originally constructed in the 17th century by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyel—the unifier of Bhutan—the dzong was destroyed by fire in 1907 but was rebuilt the same year in its original design. Today, it functions as the administrative center of the district and houses a monastic body of around 200 monks. Following the tour, we will take a scenic walk down to the traditional cantilever bridge and then drive into town. Here, you’ll have time to browse local stalls, mingle with the locals, and soak in the authentic Bhutanese atmosphere. Overnight hotel

This site, visited and sanctified by Guru Rimpoche, is one of the most revered pilgrimage destinations in the Himalayas, attracting many great Buddhist masters over the years. The monastery was built in 1692 AD by the fourth temporal ruler of Bhutan, over the cave where Guru Rimpoche and his consort, Khandro Yeshi Tshogyal, meditated. Perched on a rocky cliff that towers 800 meters above the valley, the monastic complex stands at an elevation of 2950 meters above sea level.

On your return, stop at Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan. Overnight at the hotel
